AN EXPLORATION OF CULTURAL LITERACY BY A FAITHFUL REMNANT
Cultural Literacy refers to the ability to understand the traditions by which a group of people live. It includes their literature, language, arts, science, songs, beliefs, practices, history, and their relationship with each other and the world and their God. It also refers to a people’s ability to engage with each other by using their traditions as a common language and vision.
A Faithful Remnant are those who have a faith and a desire to accept the challenge of modelling God’s love as relevant in a secular world, despite the risks that involves, such as, “the dragon was wroth with the woman and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.” (Revelation 12:17)
The poems, stories, essays, musings, and syllabus included in this blog are essentially my love letters to the world, keeping in mind the words of Johann Arndt, the 17th century German theologian . . . “At the Last Judgement, God will not ask us what we know, but rather, how we have loved.”
